The Festive Sunday Shopping event, will bring shoppers together for a day of festive fun. The event which has the theme ‘Christmas around the World’ will feature heaps of activities for families and children creating a magical atmosphere throughout the town.
This event to support our local retailers will see them open their doors from 11am-4pm; with music, mince pies, face painting, present wrapping, story reading, letters to Santa and craft activities.
Don’t forget that parking is FREE on Sunday’s in Grey’s Road and Kings’ Road Car Parks.
FREE – Alpine slope with tubes for little ones to slide down and snow machine.
Festive wooden cabins (got stuck on the M40) NOW IN TOWN HALL Christmas ornaments from different countries and crafts and food from around the globe. Mulled Wine will be served at Loch Fyne to complement our theme..
The Shiplake Community Choir will be singing festive carols around the beautiful Christmas tree from 12noon -2pm.
In the Town Hall from 12noon – 3pm SANTA WILL BE IN HIS GROTTO (FREE – children will receive a small edible gift) kindly supported by Tesco and don’t forget to post your letters to Santa in his magical postbox.
In the shop at 24 Market Place
11am-4pm The River and Rowing Museum will be doing arts and crafts. With Christmas cone friends (elf, Santa, angel) to hang on the Christmas tree, and Wind in the Willows Christmas cards to colour.
A children’s treasure hunt around the town with the theme ‘Christmas around the World’. Collect your entry form from the Christmas Ornament Cabin to win a family ticket to the Pantomime on Ice at the John Nike Ice rink in Bracknell.
There will also be an opportunity to view the suggested new play equipment for Makins Playground Exhibition so the children can have a look and comment.
The festive day of family fun will take place all around the town including buskers singing carols, choirs, bell ringers and lots more.
