Leading Thames Valley law firm Blandy & Blandy is celebrating a decade of serving the Henley-on-Thames community, marking ten years since opening its first office in the town. The milestone comes ten years after the firm’s acquisition of Collins Dryland & Thorowgood LLP, a move that established its presence in Henley and strengthened its longstanding connection with the town. Since then, the firm has continued to grow.
In 2019, Blandy & Blandy relocated to its current offices at 24 Thameside, with the official opening carried out by the then Mayor, Councillor Ken Arlett. More recently, the firm expanded further through the acquisition of McQueen Turner Solicitors and has continued to welcome new colleagues throughout 2026.
The firm’s roots in Henley stretch back much further than the last decade. The Blandy family has been associated with the town since at least the 17th century. Francis Blandy, born in 1690, was a successful lawyer and Town Clerk who lived at what is now known as Blandy House on Hart Street. His daughter, Mary Blandy, remains one of Henley’s most well-known historical figures.
Today, Blandy & Blandy continues to be an active supporter of the local community, sponsoring and supporting many of the events that make Henley such a vibrant place to live and visit. Among those is the much-loved Living Advent Calendar, alongside initiatives including The Kenton Theatre, Henley in Bloom and the town’s seasonal celebrations. The firm also regularly hosts events during Henley Royal Regatta, working with local venues and businesses including Hobbs of Henley, The Relais and Hotel du Vin.
Claire Dyer, Chair and Partner at Blandy & Blandy, said:
“Opening an office in the town ten years ago was a little like coming home for our firm. We have felt very welcomed by clients and the professional community, and it has become exactly that over time. From supporting the likes of The Kenton, the Living Advent Calendar, Henley in Bloom and the town’s festivities over the years, to hosting events during Henley Royal Regatta, we are very proud to continue to play an active role in the local area and view Henley as a fantastic place to do business.”
As Blandy & Blandy celebrates this milestone, the firm says it looks forward to continuing to invest in its Henley team and remaining an active part of the community for many years to come.
