This September, Henley is opening its doors in ways you may never have experienced before. From ancient meeting houses to grand halls and riverside treasures, you’re invited to step inside, explore, and uncover stories that shaped this historic town.

Henley Town Hall – Wednesday 17th September, 10am–12noon & 2pm–4pm
Have you ever wondered what lies behind the impressive façade of Henley Town Hall? This is your chance to explore its beautiful architecture and artwork. You’ll even have the opportunity to meet the Town Clerk and Town Sergeant – the guardians of Henley’s civic traditions.
Kings Arms Barn – Wednesday 17th September, 10am–12noon & 2pm–4pm
Step back to 1601, when this charming building first opened as stables. Today, Kings Arms Barn is a place of community and events – but its timber beams still whisper tales from over four centuries ago.
River & Rowing Museum – Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st September, 10am–4pm
Free entry for the weekend! Explore galleries that reveal the story of the Thames, wander through the Piper Gallery, and delight in the magical Wind in the Willows experience. With the museum closing, this may be your last opportunity to explore its treasures.
Greys Court – Monday 15th to Thursday 18th September, 10am–5pm (last entry 4.15pm)
For a limited time, entry fees are waived! Stroll through the walled gardens, discover hidden rooms, and climb the 14th-century Great Tower. Don’t miss the Tudor donkey wheel – one of only a handful still in existence.
Quaker Meeting House – Saturday 13th September, 2pm–5pm
Since 1658, Henley’s Quakers have gathered here in quiet reflection. A special display will trace the history and purpose of their meeting houses. Refreshments available. What do you think life was like for those early Quaker families?
Henley Masonic Centre (Thames Lodge) – Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st September, 10am–4pm
A rare chance to look inside this fascinating building and learn more about the traditions of Freemasonry in Henley.
