The Pedestal

Founded in 2016, The Pedestal is the only auction house located in Henley-on-Thames. Our auctions feature an extremely wide range of collecting categories, from furniture and works of art, to jewellery and watches, fine art, rugs and carpets, lighting and modern design – amongst many others.

We offer sales of Fine & Decorative Interiors and Luxury Design. Our auctions take place in a timed format on our site with online browsing and bidding typically available for two weeks. We host auction viewings at our central Henley location: Unit 1, Empstead Works, Henley Enterprise Park, Greys Road, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire RG9 1UF, and everyone is welcome. We also provide condition reports for lots on which our clients intend to bid – available on request.

Our specialists work with numerous collectors, dealers, decorators and curators from across the globe and are always aware of the latest market trends through extensive contacts in many fields. We have sold many collections, notably that of the late William H. Stokes, a leading dealer and connoisseur of early furniture and Works of Art, the collection of the late Patrick Donald which included a notable group of Japanese arms and armour and Works of Art, along with selections of property sourced from UK country houses and London residences.

We also offer comprehensive valuation services, for the purposes of Probate, Insurance and Matrimonial and Family Division.
